Tenjin tracking

You must completely configure your MMP to ensure accurate data tracking and optimal campaign performance. Complete all the steps listed below before you launch any campaign. Unless otherwise indicated, do each step in the Tenjin dashboard.

  1. Configure Axon by AppLovin as a partner. To configure Axon by AppLovin as a partner, do the following:

    1. Open tenjin.com in your browser.

    2. Select CONFIGURE > Channels.

    3. Click Add a Channel.

    4. Select “Axon by AppLovin” from the list of channels.

      CONFIGURE > Channels. Refine by Marketing Channel Name (e.g. Meta). Your Channels. Add a Channel button.

  2. Set your report key. After you add Axon by AppLovin as a marketing channel, select it from the list and proceed with the following steps:

    1. Enter a name for the account in the Account Name field.

    2. Enter your Axon by AppLovin Report Key in the Api Key field. You can find this key in the Axon by AppLovin dashboard under Account > Keys .

    3. Click Add Ad Account.

      CONFIGURE > Channels. Marketing Channels / New Marketing Channel. Account Info: Account Name, Api Key. Add Ad Account button.

  3. Configure attribution windows. To customize the attribution window settings, do the following:

    1. Go to CONFIGURE > Apps.

    2. Select the app for which you want to configure the customized attribution window.

      Navigate to CONFIGURE > Apps and select an app to configure app-level attribution settings.

    3. Select the Attribution tab.

    4. Find the APP ATTRIBUTION WINDOWS section.

    5. Set the click-through attribution app window to seven days (minimum) next to Device Matching and toggle on Probabilistic Matching.

    6. Set the view-through attribution app window to 24 hours (minimum) next to Device Matching and toggle on Probabilistic Matching.

      CONFIGURE > Apps. Attribution. App Attribution Windows. These are the default settings for this app and will apply to all attribution sources, including SANs. Click-through Attribution settings. View-Through Attribution settings.

  4. Establish install and event callbacks. Tenjin notifies integrated marketing channels of installs and other events when they occur. To establish install and event callbacks, do the following:

    1. Select the Callbacks and select Integrations.

    2. Select “Axon by AppLovin” from the CHANNELS AND PARTNERS dropdown menu.

    3. Enter your Axon by AppLovin SDK Key in the Sdk Key field of the SETTINGS subsection. You can find this key in the Axon by AppLovin dashboard under Account > Keys .

    4. Click Save.

      CONFIGURE > Callbacks > Integrations. View the available callbacks for this app and one of your channels or partners. Channels and partners drop-down selector. Settings: To get data from the Channel selected above, first complete the fields below. Log in to the AppLovin dashboard and navigate to the Account > Keys tab. Once there, copy the SDK Key and paste it into the Sdk Key field. If you have other AppLovin callbacks already, it will be auto populated. Sdk Key field. Enter your AppLovin SDK Key from the AppLovin dashboard to get data from the channel. Cancel. Save button.

    5. Find the CHANNEL CALLBACKS subsection.

    6. Use the toggles to enable those callbacks that you want for Axon by AppLovin.

    7. To establish a custom event callback for Axon by AppLovin, click ADD EVENTS and fill in the required details. Remember to set the USER FILTER field to all users.

      CONFIGURE > Callbacks > Integrations. Channel Callbacks. Enable the callbacks for the events you want to track with the Channel selected above. Table: Status, Name, Event, User Filter, Edit button. + Add Events button. Toggle status on for whichever event callbacks that you want enabled for data sharing. Set the User Filter field to “all users” to receive event callback data for all users. Use the Add Events button to add a custom event callback.

Only send revenue that you generate from direct user payments for digital or physical goods or services.

Send:

  • Purchases of IAPs such as in-game items, currency, boosters, etc.
  • Subscriptions (but only when the user is actually billed, not during a free trial)
  • Food delivery orders, ride-sharing or taxi rides (send the full price the user is paying)

Do not send:

  • Predicted revenue or predicted LTV
  • Revenue from government subsidies or grants
  • Revenue from referring the user to another company’s products or apps, or from the user’s purchases on another app/website (if, for example, you run a rewards app that refers users to other apps)
  • Revenue from showing advertisements in the app

Always send the full value the user is being charged (including all taxes and fees). If the transaction is not in USD, you may send the local currency amount and specify the currency of the transaction, or have your MMP handle the currency conversion to USD using the exchange rate of the day. Contact your MMP representatives if you have questions about currency reporting and exchange in checkout postbacks.

  1. Create a new campaign. To create a new campaign and complete the integration process, do the following:

    1. Select CONFIGURE > Campaigns.

    2. Click NEW CAMPAIGN to start building the shell of the campaign.

    3. Click Create Campaign.

      CONFIGURE > Campaigns. Create Campaign button. Batch Upload button. Click “Create Campaign” to start building the shell of the campaign.

    4. From the Marketing Account drop-down, select the Axon by AppLovin account you configured earlier

    5. From the App drop-down, select the app for which you are establishing the campaign.

    6. In the Name field, enter the campaign name.

    7. Click Create Campaign.

  2. Gather tracking URLs After you create a campaign, you can access both the click and impression tracking URLs on the CONFIGURE > Campaigns tab. The tracking URL macros are pre-populated using the appropriate network macros and syntax.
